Off-Camera Flash Techniques for Stunning Wedding Photos

My setup is to have one of the flashes mounted on my primary camera with wide angle lenses. My secondary camera mounted with the wireless remote flash controller. Both cameras able to trigger the 2-3 remote flashes that I have setup around the venue, especially location like reception areas, march in route and stages.

In this example, the groom was standing at the march in route waiting for the bride to walk in with her parents. I am 50m away from him to prepare for the march in. To take this shot, I used my secondary camera with 70-200mm f2.8 lenses.

  • 70-200mm f2.8 lenses give a good bokeh background effect
  • As the flash light trigger from the side and behind, it create a nice “spotlight” effect
  • The flash light highlight the groom’s profile beautifully

Love using off camera flashes during wedding as I never miss a shot, even I am not standing close to you.
